Dr. Nikitin holds a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, all earned with distinction from Samara State Technical University, Russia. Prior to joining GTIIT, he served as an Associate Professor at Samara State Technical University (2014–2025). With a strong background in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), Dr. Nikitin has over a decade of expertise in heat transfer and fluid dynamics, particularly in industrial and HVAC applications. He is also the inventor of five patented heat-power equipment designs. Currently, his work focuses on developing experimental setups for CFD model validation, bridging theoretical research with practical engineering solutions.

Dr. Andrés Arriagada Romero is a lecturer/research fellow at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (UTFSM), Valparaíso, Chile. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from UTFSM in 2025 and has published more than ten scientific papers as first or corresponding author in prestigious journals, such as Chemical Engineering Journal, Fuel, and Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews. Dr. Arriagada Romero is an expert in the field of thermochemical conversion of solid and gaseous fuels in porous media reactors both at experimental and numerical level focusing on heterogeneous combustion and sustainable fuel blends. 

Dr. Mustafin holds a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, all earned with distinction from Samara State Technical University, Russia. Prior to joining GTIIT, he served as an Associate Professor and Research assistant at Samara State Technical University. His main area of research is the computer simulation of thermal processes. He have investigated processes such as: waste heat recovery from high-temperature installations through thermochemical transformations; interfacial phenomena and their impact on the operation of thermal equipment; modeling of complex flows in channels with various turbulators; performance analysis of renewable energy systems; and investigation of novel heat exchange surfaces, such as triply periodic minimal surfaces. In his work, I utilize high-fidelity computational software including ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL Multiphysics, and Aspen HYSYS. He also have experience working in an interdisciplinary team focused on developing a model of the human cardiovascular system, where I was responsible for developing fluid flow models.

Igor Kapilov received his BSc and MSc degrees from Samara State Technical University in 2019 and 2021, respectively. In 2023, he joined the ATE Lab as a Research Assistant. In March 2024, he enrolled in the PhD program at the Technion Graduate School under the joint supervision of two co-advisors: Prof. Leonid Tartakovsky (Technion – Israel Institute of Technology) and Assoc. Prof. Dmitry Pashchenko (Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology).

Viacheslav Papkov received his BSc degree from Samara State Technical University in 2023. In 2023, he joined the ATE Lab as a Research Assistant. In October 2024, he enrolled in the MSc program at the Technion Graduate School under the joint supervision of two co-advisors: Prof. Leonid Tartakovsky (Technion – Israel Institute of Technology) and Assoc. Prof. Dmitry Pashchenko (Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology).

Yinjun Gao obtained his bachelor's degree in engineering in 2025, majoring in aerospace engineering. Now he is pursuing M.S. in GTIIT under the guidance of Prof. Dmitry Pashchenko (GTIIT) and Prof. Bo Zhou (SUSTech).

Nikita Shadymov joined the ATE Lab as a Research Assistant in October 2024. His focus is on software development for applications in applied thermal engineering.

Prior to joining the ATE laboratory team, she worked at the "Pedagogical Quantorium" of Samara State Socio-Pedagogical University

Haojie Chen is an exceptional student, currently pursuing his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the Technion in China, where he has maintained an impressive GPA of 89.0/100. He was included to the Dean’s List for Academic Excellence during the 2022/23 academic year.

Han Su is an exceptional student, currently pursuing his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the Technion in China, where he has maintained an impressive GPA of 89.6/100 and is ranked 8th out of 63 students in his cohort

Boyang Zhang is an exceptional student, currently pursuing his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the Technion in China. During fall semester of 2024/25 academic year he stayed at the Denmark Technical University (Copenhagen, Denmark).

Mikhail Sheviakov received his BSc and MSc degrees from Moscow Power Engineering Institute in 2024 and 2026. In 2026, he joined the ATE Lab as a Research Assistant. His research is focused on both experimental and theoretical investigations, with a particular emphasis on computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
